Marina Chinese is a small Chinese language school for children and teenagers, teaching in Amsterdam and online. We have taught Mandarin to many young learners, from playful three-year-olds taking their first words to teenagers building real fluency.
In Amsterdam we teach in person, either at your home or at a location somewhere in the city, often a local library. We come to families across Amsterdam and Amstelveen, including Amsterdam Zuid, the Zuidas, De Pijp and Amsterdam Oost. Prefer online? Live lessons via Zoom are available too, so there is always a format that fits your family.
Every teacher is a native Mandarin speaker who specialises in teaching children. Lessons are warm, playful and effective, with songs, games and stories that make Chinese feel like an adventure rather than homework.

All our teachers are native Mandarin speakers experienced with children. Groups are capped at 8, so every child gets real speaking time and attention.

Short sessions with songs, games and visual materials. A gentle, playful introduction to Chinese sounds and first words.
Junior Explorers
Interactive lessons with vocabulary, characters and conversation. Children build a solid foundation while having fun.
Teen Achievers
More structured lessons with discussion, reading and writing, working towards real fluency and, if wanted, exams.

Marina Chinese is for children and teens aged 3 to 18. For adult learners we run a separate school, Beijing Duck Chinese, with courses built around adult goals like work, travel and everyday conversation.
