Native Mandarin speakers who have spent years teaching children.
I'm a full-time Mandarin teacher from northern China, where standard Mandarin comes from. I have taught for more than 15 years, first in China and then in Europe, and Marina Chinese is my own school.
In the Netherlands I kept teaching full time: at a university, online and in person. With children I mix play with structure. They laugh a lot in my lessons, and they also know what they are working towards.
Children learn Chinese best when they listen, speak, read and write in the same lesson. After every class, parents get a PDF with what we covered, so you can practise at home.
I plan every lesson around the child in front of me, not around the book.
Marina
Marina has taught Mandarin for more than 15 years, in China and in Europe. She teaches children of all ages and oversees every class.
Tina teaches mostly younger children. Shy children tend to relax with her quickly, and her lessons are full of songs, games and stories.
Every lesson has songs, games or stories. Children remember the words they have sung or played with.
Children speak Chinese from the first lesson, even if it's only a few words. The sooner they hear themselves speak Chinese, the less shy they are about it.
After each class you get a PDF with the words and sentences we covered, for a quick review at home.
A dinosaur fan gets dinosaur words. We adapt each lesson to your child's age, level and interests.

Marina and her team, all native Mandarin speakers. Everyone teaches the same way, so lessons feel familiar whoever is teaching.
We teach children and teens from age 3 to 18. Lessons are always adapted to the child's age, level, and personality.
Almost all lessons are online via Zoom, so your child can join from anywhere. When our teachers are in the Netherlands, we also teach in person in Amsterdam.
